Flynn Tarps is a family-owned business run by brothers Anthony and Danny Flynn. For more than 34 years, we’ve been protecting projects across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane with a reputation for service that goes above and beyond.

1991

The story of Flynn Tarps (then trading as Flynn Rentals) began in 1991, when 20-year-old Anthony Flynn started the business with encouragement from his father, Mike. Mike had been General Manager at Wreckair since the 1960s and saw a niche opportunity in tarp hire.

1993

After two years of running the business from his home, including repairing tarps on the road in front of his home, Anthony took the plunge and moved into his first factory in Thomastown.

1998

As the business grew, Anthony’s brother Danny came on board, and the two of them rolled up their sleeves and started sharing the load - taking orders, doing deliveries, pick ups and repairing tarps. With the business growing, the brothers moved into a larger premises but remaining in Thomastown.

2004

2004 saw a 3rd move to a much larger factory in Campbellfield, where the Victorian branch still operates today.

2007

Leaving the sunny skies and warm days of Melbourne, with his wife and new baby girl, Anthony moved to Queensland overseeing the expansion of operations in Brisbane.

2013

Following a family decision to relocate to Sydney, Anthony swiftly opened the Sydney branch while remaining in charge of the Brisbane branch.

2025

Today, Flynn Tarps continues to be run by Anthony and Danny, who both remain hands-on in the business. With a tightening up of processes and clearer roles, a slicker operation sees the boys efficiently managing Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane along with their teams of repairers and drivers.
